U.S. Air Force Airmen of the 177th, 108th, and 111th Civil Engineer Squadrons participate in training May 21, 2023, at Camp Madbull on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The civil engineers participated in Scruffy Devil, a Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force 96-hour contingency training focused on rapidly establishing living quarters, base sustainment and emergency service support. The Scruffy Devil exercise earned its name through its nature as expeditionary training with engineers dealing with extreme weather conditions, field conditions and limited communications.
