JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Tech. Sgt. Scott Hopkins, an electrical enviroonmental specialist from the 176 Maintenance Squadron, checks out an old shoe found by a co-worker May 14 during the annual Foreign Object Airfield Clean-up Walk. Military members across the base joined efforts to clean up the airfield here after the snow melted this Spring. The members collected over 1,970 pounds of foreign objects.

JOINT FORCE BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - Tech. Sgt. Brett Brandemuhl, a loadmaster from the 144th Airlift Squadron, briefs 176th Wing members on C-130 air safety protocols before take off, May 1, 2011. The members, a mixed group of about 30, were from the wing?s Medical Group, Civil Engineer Squadron, and the Sustainment Services Element, and were on Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) mission to Hayneville, Ala. The IRT program allows for real world training opportunities for military personnel while providing needed services to under-served communities in the United States.
