Logistics squadron members celebrate assumption of command

Maj. Daniel Nigolian assumed command of the 176th Logistics Readiness Squadron at a ceremony on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Sep. 15, 2016.

Commissioned in 2001 after earning his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Colorado, Nigolian's first assignment was with the 728th Air Mobility Squadron based out of Incirlik Air Base in Turkey from 2001 to 2003.

Afterwards, he transferred to Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, serving with the 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron and the 353rd Combat Training Squadron until 2006. His career then took him to Japan, Singapore, Illinois and back to Turkey during the span of 2006 to 2016. In June of 2016, Nigolian returned to Alaska and joined the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard, serving as the wing deployment officer with the 176th LRS.

The 176th LRS, a component of the 176th Mission Support Group, is divided into six sections -- transportation, distribution, management and systems, fuels management, logistics plans, and ariel port.
