Some of the cast and crew of the coming film "Everybody Loves Whales" visited members of the Alaska Air National Guard and Alaska Army National Guard on Nov. 6 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

About 60 Guard members showed up to shake hands, ask the stars questions and get autographs.

"It made for an intimate atmosphere where the stars could have a one-on-one conversation with our Airmen and Soldiers," said 2nd Lt. Bernie Kale, a 176th Wing member who functioned as the Department of Defense projects activities officer for the film.

Big names like John Krasinski ("The Office", "It's Complicated"), Kristen Bell ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall", "Couples Retreat"), Mary Steenburgen ("The Proposal", "Step Brothers), and Ted Danson ("Cheers", "Three Men and a Little Lady") showed up at the event.
"We are very grateful and appreciative for them taking time out of their busy schedule to say thank you to our folks," Kale said.
