176th Wing recognizes outstanding performers

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska --  The Alaska Air National Guard's 176th Wing recognized the previous year's outstanding performers in a ceremony at the Talkeetna Theatre here June 7.

The awards ceremony is an annual event, typically held over a drill weekend in June.

"If we put in for an award on the national level, we typically win it, because we do so much with so little every single day. I'm very proud of what you do," the wing's commander, Col. Blake Gettys, told the assembled Guard members.

"The 176th Wing has an outstanding reputation nationwide," said Col. Karen Mansfield, Alaska's Assistant Adjutant General for Air and commander of the Alaska Air National Guard. "I'm honored to recognize these Airmen for all their accomplishments."

PAUL W. LINDEMUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD. Given in memory of former 176th Wing Commander Brig. General Paul Lindemuth and provided by the Air Chapter of the Alaska National Guard Officer's Association, this award is presented to the 176th Wing senior officer who best epitomizes the ideals of leadership and dedication to our nation, the State of Alaska, and the Alaska Air National Guard.
