176th Wing Memorial Park Dedication and Blessing of the Land
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Members of the Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club conduct a Fallen Warrior Ceremony in celebration of Armed Forces Day, May 2011. Along with this ceremony, the Alaska Air National Guard?s 176th Wing dedicated a memorial park and Dena?ina elder Ondola from the native village of Eklutna performed a blessing of the land over the new home of the wing. In February, the wing moved from Kulis Air National Guard Base to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson per the 2005 Defense Base Realignment and Closure proposal.
