176th Wing Memorial Park Dedication and Blessing of the Land
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Dena?ina elder Ondola from the native village of Eklutna performs a blessing of the land that is the new home of the 176th Wing, Alaska Air National Guard, May 21, 2011. Along with the blessing, the wing dedicated a memorial park and members of the Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club conducted a Fallen Warrior Ceremony in celebration of Armed Forces Day. In February, the wing moved from Kulis Air National Guard Base to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson per the 2005 Defense Base Realignment and Closure proposal.
