176th Wing, Alaska Air National Gaurd
JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - Master Sgt. Barron McLain, a client support technician with the 176th Communications Flight, makes and installs telephone patch cables. The flight recently moved -- along with its parent unit, the 176th Wing -- from Kulis Air National Guard Base to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, per the 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment proposal. Since January, McLain, a handful of other technicians from the flight, and two Alaska Military Youth Academy cadets installed more than 600 telephones throughout 14 Guard facilities here.
