SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, Calif. -- Tech. Sgt. Bryan S. Spake, an entomology specialist with the Alaska Air National Guard's 176th Civil Engineer Squadron (176 CES), prepares groundwork here March 12 for setting concrete forms. A native of South Hill, Va., Spake deployed to this remote location off the coast of southern California for training with his Air National Guard unit. The 176 CES, part of the Alaska Air National Guard's 176th Wing, deployed to San Clemente Island for two weeks in March 2011 to train and work on a variety of infrastructure projects.
