Operation Santa Claus 2009 - Gambell

Brig. Gen. Randy Banez, assistant adjutant general for the Alaska Army National Guard, rides in a snow machine-towed sled back to a waiting HC-130 aircraft after a Dec. 19, 2009 Operation Santa Claus visit to the remote Bering Sea village of Gambell. Now in its 53rd year, Operation Santa Claus is a program of the Alaska National Guard to bring toys, food, supplies and Christmas cheer to isolated villages around the state.
