Operation Santa Claus 2009 - Gambell
Rich Owens, owner of the Alaska Tastee-Freez restaurant in Anchorage and a long-time supporter of military programs in Alaska, helps offload a 176th Wing HC-130 in the village of Gambell on Dec. 16, 2009. The Alaska Air and Army National Guard were there as part of Operation Santa Claus 2009. Operation Santa Claus is a 53-year program of the Alaska National Guard to bring toys, food, supplies and Christmas cheer to isolated villages around the state.
