Moving aircraft
MSgt. Leif Strand guides an F-86 fighter aircraft aircraft into its permanent home on a pedestal near the entrance to Kulis ANG Base. An ongoing project led by CMSgt. (ret.) Jim Herrick has attempted to find and restore one example of each of the different aircraft flown by the Alaska Air National Guard. The F-86 was the second such aircraft to be permanently mounted; a C-123 cargo aircraft was the first. Alaska Air National Guard photo by Marc Maxwell.
