Alaska Air National Guard at Hurricane Ike

SSgt. Matthew Schrader, a pararescuer with the Alaska Air National Guard's 212th Rescue Squadron, scans flooded Galveston Island, Texas the day after Hurrican Ike made landfall. The 176th Wing deployed two helicopters and about 30 wing members to the Gulf Coast region Sept. 1 to perform expected search-and-rescue missions in the wake of Hurricane Gustav.
