144 Airlift Squadron helps in state-wide exercise

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Members of the Fort Greely Fire Department transport role players and mannequins from a 144 Airlift Squadron C-130 Hercules to a triage area and ambulances during Alaska Shield and Vigilant Guard 2014 exercises here on March 31. AS/VG-14 is an exercise that involves state, federal, military and local agencies, designed to test the response and coordination of the disaster modeled after the 1964 earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated much of South Central Alaska.
