176 Wing squadron commander awarded receives bronze star

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Lt. Col. Ed Soto, commander of the 176 Civil Engineer Squadron, takes the pin he received along with the Bronze Star Medal and pins it to the lapel of his wife, Maile, to express his appreciation for her support. Soto received the Bronze Star Medal in a ceremony here Sept. 22, 2013. He earned the award, one of America's highest military decorations, for exceptionally distinguished performance while deployed to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, from February 2012 to August 2012.
