Aircraft maintenance Airmen critical part of Pave Hawk transport mission
Airmen from the 176th and 718th Aircraft Maintenance Squadrons off-load an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter from a 144th Airlift Squadron C-17 Globemaster III after transporting the helicopter to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richadson, Alaska. The Pave Hawk experienced a malfunction after completing a medevac mission in Western Alaska. The aircraft landed safely at the Alaska Army National Guard hangar in Bethel after the mission but was unable to complete the trip back to JBER. The ability to seamlessly transition from rescue operations to global mobility provides the 176th Wing with a strategic edge, showcasing the Wing’s commitment to agile combat employment and effectiveness when handling complex situations, both within the state and across the globe.
