EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

About us

Effective organizations allow their members to rise to the highest levels of responsibility based on their individual merits, fitness and capabilities. The 176th Wing's Equal Opportunity Office improves mission effectiveness by promoting an environment free from personal, social or institutional barriers that might prevent Air National Guard members doing so.

Services

The EO Office processes discrimination complaints filed by ANG members, their family members and/or retirees who believe they have experienced unlawful harassment or discrimination based on their race, color, national origin, religion or  sex. The EO staff also provides human resource assistance such as third-party conflict resolution, equal opportunity assistance information and referrals to other agencies. Staff also advise the wing and unit commanders, providing technical guidance as subject matter experts for higher-level complaint processing.

EO personnel conduct "Out and About" visits and Unit Climate Assessments for commanders at all levels to assess their respective organizations' human relations climate, and prepare annual NGB-EO statistical and Affirmative Action Plan reports.

Finally, the EO Office conducts a variety of education and training classes -- including Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Human Relations Education, Newcomers Orientation and First Duty Station -- for wing members.
