Moving aircraft
MSgt. Leif Strand guides an F-86 fighter aircraft aircraft into its permanent home on a pedestal near the entrance to Kulis ANG Base. An ongoing project led by CMSgt. (ret.) Jim Herrick has attempted to find and restore one example of each of the different aircraft flown by the Alaska Air National Guard. A standing ovation. After having been presented with tokens of gratitude from First Sergeant Barbara Jackson and commanders Lt. Col. Andrew Mamrol and Lt. Col. Mark Hedlund, volunteer Colette M. Moring gets a standing ovation from those present as she shares a hug with Jackson. The December ceremony recognized Moring’s many efforts supporting Alaska’s deployed Guard members.
