KULIS AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Alaska ? Members from the 176th Maintenance Group tow a HC-130N from hangar 1, building 3, Jan. 18, 2011. This aircraft is the last aircraft to go through an isochronal inspection ? a detailed assessment and repairs of the aircraft from tip to tail and everything in between - before the 176th Wing relocates from Kulis Air National Guard Base to Elmendorf per the 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment proposal. Hangar 1 in its many incarnations has been in service since 1955 where maintainers worked on the T-6G Texan Trainer to the F-80 "Shooting Star" jet fighter.
